A few interesting facts for you...

According to the Australian Bureau of Statistics, on June 30th, 2007, there were 40 976 registered not-for-profit organisations in Australia.

Religious NFPs accounted for 21.3%

Culture and recreational organisations accounted for 20%

In addition to 884 476 paid employees, these organisations utilised 2.4 million volunteers, and received $74.5 billion in funding, with $25.4 billion of this from government at all levels.
