Well I could have done that, and the copywriters that advise me have suggested that approach, but I thought hey “I hate those kinda sites and they never sell me”, so how about I just be straight up and tell you what we have to offer, how it is going to help you, what the investment is for you and your business, and how to get on the team. What is the Frank Team’s Young Entrepreneur Membership Program?

It’s a membership program exclusively for young entrepreneurs. Young people between the age of 15 - 35 who want to start their own business or are currently running their own business.

What do you get as a member?

Firstly you get IGNITE monthly, just as Level One members do. But you also get the chance to send in your questions that will then be answered in the articles in IGNITE. So you direct the content to your needs. Here are some past issues of IGNITE.

Next up is mentoring. We know how useful and important mentoring is to young entrepreneurs.  You have often never worked for anyone else before and are making it up as you go, so hearing from someone with that extra experience can really push you forward. Every second month we will run a Member ONLY Mentoring Event that is free to Frank Team members.

1. Get inspired and learn from highly successful entrepreneur mentors.
2. When you register you suggest what you would like covered by the mentor. The mentors spend time in small groups answering direct questions from Frank Team young entrepreneur members.

Then we have a stellar 2009 series of networking events and workshops for you, which are separate to the mentoring events, our SPARK Series. Level Two members get significant discounts to these events.

Who is The Frank Team anyway?

Why are we doing this?
Starting my first business at the age of 19 was an exhilarating, scary and amazing process. My little tutoring business called Hills Breakthrough Tutoring Service began in 1995 with a school friend of mine. Neither of us had any real idea what we were doing, but we had a heap of ideas and energy and went at-it full pace. Ever since then I have created my own income through my business pursuits & it has been an amazing journey. So you could say I fell into being a young entrepreneur rather than ever setting out to be my own boss.

The road has been filled, and is still filled with, amazing highs but also a lot of challenges. And I know I am not the only young entrepreneur experiencing these challenges. Grappling with things like start up capital needs, convincing others that despite your age you do know what you are talking about, learning business skills while actually running the business, understanding all of the government speak to work out what you actually have to do are only a few of those issues. And you are often doing all of this solo when first starting, as there are no funds for staffing, it is all you, while many of your friends are out partying and climbing the corporate ladder! I was doing it from my bedroom for the first few years. I called it my “business in a box” because all of my customer files fit into a file-a-box!! All of this can be overwhelming, isolating and very challenging.

Over the years with my business The Frank Team we have done programs directly with young entrepreneurs as well as programs in schools encouraging students  to consider being their own boss as a career option (the kinda stuff we wished we had!). These programs have been my all time favourites as I see the direct impact it has, and because it is my story and my experience just like yours that connect me with those fellow young entrepreneurs. What it also helped me to see was that when groups of young entrepreneurs get together amazing things happen.
The young entrepreneurs totally vibe off each other as they love hanging out with others who are just like them. We often have young entrepreneurs telling us that their friends just don’t understand them cos they wanna talk about business all of the time, but when they are amongst other young entrepreneurs it all feels right. They share tips and strategies with each other easily and with great enthusiasm. They encourage each other as they each go after their goals. And they love that everyone is young and going through the same stuff that they are.

So The Frank Team is changing tact, forging a new path and evolving itself. To be frank with you it is now my driving passion and desire to inspire and support young Aussie entrepreneurs, and the first stage of that vision is The Frank Team Young Entrepreneur Membership. This is an idea that has been bubbling in my head for about 7 years. I want to create the support & network around us. I want to see us connecting and learning from each other more. I want to provide us with high calibre skills experts at costs we can actually afford. And to do all of this as a business so that it gets the focus, energy & sustainability required to ensure it is a strong and enduring network for young entrepreneurs now and years from now.

Who is the Frank Team & Jessica Kiely?

Meet Jessica Kiely
Holding down a full time desk job isn't Jessica Kiely's style - because she'd prefer to run the company! This would explain why Jessica has been running her own companies from the age of 19. She is currently 31 years old, the Founder & Director of The Frank Team and previously New Horizon Tutoring, her first ever business that she started at the age of 19.

An entrepreneur from an early age without really realising it, Jessica has never worked for anyone else having created her own employment since the end of school.
Her first business New Horizon Tutoring, which began in the Hills district offered in-house tutoring for school students, and her current company The Frank Team inspires & enables people to build their career, business and entrepreneurial skills through fun, interactive workshops, guest speaking, program development, consultancy and resources for schools, universities, councils, government departments, youth organisations, community groups and corporates. The Frank Team is a creative education company.

With The Frank Team, Jessica has taken an idea that she was told "would never work" to a national success story to show that people before profit does work. Her company has undergone amazing growth with the number of participants experiencing Frank Team programs hitting 30,000.

From its beginnings in her bedroom in 2001, The Frank Team now has 3 full time staff and 15 facilitators across Australia, and the impact of their programs have been felt in metro cities, regionally and rural locations, from Halls Creek in WA to King Island in Tasmania and everywhere in between.
2006 also saw The Frank Team run its first truly international program with Jessica travelling to Bahrain in the Middle East to develop the leadership and project management skills of their young people.
Jessica and The Frank Team have worked with organisations like the Commonwealth Bank Foundation, Westpac, NSW Department of State & Regional Development, Australian Business Community Network, NSW Parliament, Department of Education Science & Training, Macquarie University, Melbourne University, Chevron, Cerebos, National Australia Bank as well as hundreds of schools around Australia.

Over the past 10 years of running her own businesses, Jessica has developed a wealth of experience and expertise. She is an expert in powerful presentations especially for a youth audience, human resource management for small businesses including motivating and retaining staff, setting up and managing systems that help a small business tick, business and team skills, coaching and keeping people on task, and of course a large amount of experience in starting from scratch with ideas and making them a reality.
In addition to running her businesses, Jessica has been a dance teacher - teaching jazz, contemporary and tap – for over ten years. In her 'spare' time, Jessica loves working at her family's sheep station near Mudgee in regional NSW.

Jessica's key passions are equipping people with the skills to turn their ideas into a new business venture, career goal or community project, and working in collaboration with other passionate people.
